Meet Kim & Storm
It all began when I phoned Kat to inquire about a rescue dog she had brought in from a high kill shelter out of California the previous year. We talked for awhile, she asked me lots of questions, then instructed me to go to their website and complete the adoption application to get things started.
A few days later we scheduled a Meet & Greet.
When I arrived at the training center, Nancy brought into the training center the most beautiful female Belgian Malinois I have ever seen.
I was introduced to “Storm” and spent time observing Storm interact with Nancy. Kat and I talked more about Storm’s background, the rescue, and about the Belgian Malinois breed.
As Storm ran around off leash inside the facility exploring the various area’s used for dog training classes, she came up to me very excited wagging her tail and checking me out many times. Within 1 hour of our introduction, Nancy & Kat worked with me on the obedience commands that are taught in their training classes. Most of them are German commands that Storm had already mastered. After working with Storm myself, we agreed I should make plans to visit again and this time bring my other smaller dog.
Of course I smiled and said Absolutely!
My 2nd visit included a Meet & Greet of my grand-dog Bear, an 8 year old Snorkie (Schnauzer/Yorkie). Kat recommended they be introduced on neutral turf, this would prevent any territorial issues. They did multiple “sniff tests” and followed each other around for a while. It was an immediate success.
After the visit, and more interaction with Storm, the decision was made that I had been approved for the adoption of Storm.
My 3rd and final visit was to pick her up! “Let’s go home girl”
This was over 2 years ago, and I can’t imagine life without her. She and I have bonded so much. ” I love you Storm”…”I will protect you Mommy”
A glance into our lives now…..
Storm & Bear have become inseparable!
After a few Malinois “Maligator” events, she has come to realize her Fur-ever home has found Her!
I have learned she isn’t just any dog, Storm has become the missing link of our family.
Check back, as another chapter is in the works…
